Scholarship Program

Velanai – Canada┬а University Scholarship Program- 2022

You may be aware that over the past several years Velanai People Organization has been assisting students in Velanai with their educational activities. We are very pleased to announce the evolution of this program. Responding to requests of well-wishers, and with the assistance of donors, we are establishing a scholarship to encourage educational excellence in students of Velanai origin living in Canada. Students entering university with the highest average in high school will receive this scholarship this year.

It is our belief that this scholarship will encourage the youth living here to contribute to the betterment of Velanai in the future.

Prize Money

  • The highest achiever will receive a scholarship of CAD 1500.00
  • The second highest achiever will receive a scholarship of CAD 1000.00
  • The third highest achiever will receive a scholarship of CAD 500.00
  • The next seven highest achievers will receive scholarships of CAD 250.00 each.

Eligibility

  • One of the studentтАЩs parents must be born in Velanai
  • Completed or will complete Grade 12 in Ontario or CEGEP in Quebec in 2022
  • The student who applied to a Canadian University and was accepted to enter fall 2022.
